Interestingly I became aware of this post through an email from Itch themselves, lol! So I wonder if that's how they planned to do a workaround for the time being.

So don't panic. They made it so now things that don't accept payments like this visual novel can be reindexed if you toggle a thing in the pricing to say "no payments". From the sounds of the post, it reindexes stuff daily so it won't be immediate. But the sooner you toggle that on anything that qualifies, the sooner they show up again. (Spread the word. :P )
They also seem to be working on getting another payment processor that isn't trying to control what can be bought, so there is a decent chance that things on Itch will get back to normal sooner than later.
This game already doesn't accept any payments... :(
This deindexing seems to be separate from the mass ones and instead likely due to the fact that the gamepage has a content warning for SA, which is still being restricted more strongly even though this game is not NSFW. I have reached out to itch about the potential of reindexing it but it will probably take me a while to hear back because they are swamped with people emailing.

It'll be okay. Your game has a fantastic story that shouldn't be lumped in with the likes of this ban regardless--putting aside the point of censorship being generally wrong. Don't give up, keep creating--you have supporters that will keep spreading knowledge of your work, and the stories your characters tell!

FWIW I don’t own your game and I am currently able to see this page. I came here from an Itch email that actually featured this post, so Itch appears to be directing traffic to you in some way and hasn’t permanently de-indexed the game.

It's gonna be OK, Carrot. As others here have said, games naturally get deindexed no matter what when their pages are edited. Take deep breaths, find a friend or partner in whom you can confide, and do what you need to do to regain peace. Know that you are loved, even by those who are whole continents away from you, you are worth everything, and that help will come if you ask for it.
Almost all games briefly get deindexed when you edit them! That is natural! Their policies are hard to find because you have to look all over for them, and there’s a bunch of panicky misinformation spread about. Pages usually get briefly checked over when you edit them.

I love your games. They are iconic (such cute faces they make me smile). This will pass, and we will find a way to recover. If not here, everyone will find somewhere else to go.

I'm really sorry to read this, all this new policies are so shitty and it must be hard for you and all the devs affected by them.
Take care of yourself and if it helps I think your games are great, I remember being so very impressed the first time I played Our Wonderland seeing all the effort and artistry you put into it, you are very talented!
Hopefully things will change for the better if not on itchio, on other platforms you can show your projects in the future.
I'm sorry! It's not your fault ! I promise. Itchio has been deindexing new games over time. It's possible it was the timing was a coincidence because I edited my page and was deindexed much later on rather than right after.
I'm sorry Carrot! The hopeless feeling.. is hard to defeat, but I hope we can all make it through this!
