Texting the Awkward Ace Guy You've Had a Crush on Since High School

It's tough having a crush. Especially when that crush is on your best friend. And especially when that crush lasts five, ten years! But it's OK—you can text him! Who knows, maybe he'll finally figure out what you've been unable to say these many years. Or, you'll just annoy him! Either way.
A short and sweet text-messaging-based visual novel created in seven days for the Only One of Any Asset (O2A2) Queer Edition Jam 2023!
As per the jam rules, this game contains:
- <1,000 words (991 to be exact)
- 1 sprite + 1 BG
- 1 music track
- 1 sound effect
As per my own rules, this game contains:
- Silly texting dialogue and shenanigans
- Self-indulgent gay feels (whoops how did those get in there)
- A very cute ace char who hasn't quite figured himself out yet
- Two different endings based on your texting prowess (can you get the cute sweet scene at the end?? teehee)
The two characters, Genzou and Iggy, are from my main game, Our Wonderland, but you don't need to know anything about them or the game to enjoy this little story! (Though if you like them, I hope you might try out the main game!!)

I actually played this one before Our Wonderland, and the fact that I enjoyed it enough to look into your other work speaks volumes!
I really just, picked what I personally would say, and easily got the good ending!
And I was so exited when I learned you get to actually *play* as Iggy in OW!

I love Genzou so much. This game was a bit anxiety-inducing itself because Iggy reminds me of a former partner where things didn't go so well, but nonetheless it was pleasant to play :]
I'll definitely check out Our Wonderland soon, would like to see more of The Lad. His speaking patterns are gold.

how do i know if i got the good ending
The good ending is the one where you actually see Iggy! He shows up at Genzou's shop with coffee and they go get dinner. (In the bad ending, you don't get to see Iggy at all.)
thank you for this game! it's really very cute. it reminded me of our conversation with a friend. I'm so happy with the ending! (although I didn't get to it the first time) the election interestingly shows how phrases can affect the dialogue, and animations have added realism and atmosphere! I hope to see Genzo and Iggs in your other games again><🧡

Ohhhhhh I'm glad HAHAHA I was really hoping it would feel realistic!! That's part of why I tried to set up all the texting animations and timing and everything, so it could feel a bit more immersive and more like real texting 💦
